Elkay is pleased to announce our new Supplier Diversity Program as part of Elkay's renewed effort to shine a light and increase our focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across the entire Elkay family.
As our domestic population grows increasingly diverse, it is incumbent on all of us to rise to the occasion and bring a greater spirit of diversity, equity, and inclusion to the table, supporting the consumers, employees, suppliers, and communities we partner with and serve.
The goal of Elkay's Supplier Diversity program is to make meaningful contributions to the economic growth of diverse companies and communities. We firmly believe that greater diversity in our supply chain will bring enhanced innovation and fresh ideas to how we perform as an organization. We're committed to forging mutually beneficial business relationships with an increasingly diverse set of strategic suppliers. By providing strong partnerships and resources, we can help these businesses thrive and contribute their ingenuity and expertise to benefit our entire business as well as the global customers we serve.
We hope you are as excited as we are about this new program and its opportunities for Elkay and the communities we serve. We welcome feedback on how this program supports your own supplier diversity efforts and what data we can provide to help you on your DEI Journey.
Over the past year, Elkay has been on an expanding diversity, equity, and inclusion journey. Together, we've learned that it's essential to build diversity into every aspect of our business in today's business environment. The people who make up our communities, our consumers, our employees, and our suppliers and partners are increasingly diverse. They expect the companies they come to work for and do business with to reflect that diverse spirit.
Elkay's Supplier Diversity Program will seek to measure and expand upon our existing supplier diversity, increasing our book of business with Minority, Women, LGBTQ, Small and Veteran Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE/LQBTQ/SBE/VBE) serving our industries. The Supplier Diversity program will enable Elkay to develop robust two-way supplier relationships that maximize the value of our diversity and inclusion initiatives and increase sustainable business opportunities for a diverse set of partners.
We'll start with a comprehensive supplier audit to understand our current supplier diversity performance and use this data to identify diversity gaps and opportunities in our supply chain. Then we will engage with high-performing certified MBE/WBE/LQBTQ/SBE/VBE suppliers who meet our exacting quality and performance standards to help us fulfill our tier-one and tier-two sourcing requirements.
Currently, we will look for partners certified by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Regional affiliates and Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
In addition, Elkay has recently joined the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC) and the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) – leading supplier diversity certification organizations in the nation -- as a corporate affiliate to strengthen our connections in the Supplier Diversity community.
We hope you are as excited as we are about this new program and invite you to consider expanding the diversity of your own department's supplier network when the opportunity presents itself.
Greater diversity in our supply chain will enhance our innovation and inject fresh ideas into our operations. That’s why we are strongly committed to developing productive, mutually beneficial relationships with an increasingly diverse set of strategic suppliers, investing in strong partnerships and providing resources to help these businesses thrive and contribute their dynamic energy, ingenuity and expertise to benefit our entire supply chain.
