By 1930, Elkay has outgrown our location and makes the move to a larger manufacturing facility.
The challenges of World War II bring the opportunity for Elkay to participate in our country's war effort.
Elkay continues its growth during the post-war boom refining automation processes installed in the late 40's.
Elkay begins producing our own line of water coolers.
In 1970, Elkay's three compartment design escalates the popularity of stainless steel sinks.
In 1980, Elkay expands into the retail market.
Our acquisition of Halsey Taylor rounds out our water cooler business in 1991.
In 2009, Elkay acquires SSP, Inc., adding new capabilities and horsepower to the company's ability to serve the back-of-house needs of commercial/industrial and foodservice customers.
In 2010, Elkay introduces the award-winning ezH2O water bottle filling station – changing the world of water delivery forever. This innovative, earth-friendly product instantly gains popularity for its ability to reduce plastic bottle waste headed for landfills.
In 2016, Elkay purchases MR Direct, a popular online retailer of residential sinks selling directly to consumers.
In 2017, Elkay acquires Interior Systems Inc. Operating as Elkay Interior Systems, the company expands Elkay's ability to offer design, engineering and fabrication services for diverse segments such as retail fixtures, fast casual restaurants, hospitality, and education.
And in 2018, Elkay acquires the seating and décor division of The Marketing Store to expand international capabilities for Elkay Interior Systems; and Voda, the manufacturer of the Smartwell beverage dispenser.
In 2019, Elkay divests the cabinet business to a leading national cabinet manufacturing firm, acpi.
In late 2019, Elkay acquired Austria-based Schloffer, GmbH and Designed2Work, and Washington, DC-based Digney York & Associates to further strengthen the global capabilities of Elkay Interior Systems.
